Even if you have not finished your Bachelor’s studies, you can still apply. If this is the case, kindly state in your application when your expected date of graduation is. It is important that you finish your Bachelor’s studies by the time you apply for admission at your entrance university.
Before you start your application, you must choose one of the partner universities as your entrance university, as the two universities have different admission procedures, which also apply to Joint Programme students.

Applying for a Master's programme involves a good deal of time-consuming paperwork. To help you decide whether this programme is right for you, you might like to answer the following questions:

How to apply
Please note that the application and admission process is a two-step procedure. Selected applicants may be requested to provide additional documents and/or complete an online application before admission to the chosen entrance university.
As mentioned above, you must choose either Graz or Ljubljana as your entrance university! All application documents must be submitted to the chosen entrance university. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The admission procedures of the two universities are explained below.
Applying to the University of Graz
You need to complete this application form and submit the signed form together with the following documents by email to jointdegrees(at)uni-graz.at

- Signed motivation letter (max. 2 pages)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Copy of your BA certificate or equivalent degree (with English translation, if not in German or Slovene)
- Letter of recommendation (from a lecturer on the completed study programme)
- Transcript of records or Diploma Supplement
- Copy of your passport (of ID page with photograph) or, if you are EU citizen, of your identity card
- Certificate of German language proficiency (C1) (not older than 2 years)*

The call for applications for the academic year 2025/26 with start in the winter semester 2025/26 for the University of Graz as entrance university runs from March 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025.
Applying to University of Ljubljana

Selection Criteria
Applicants who fulfil the requirements for admission to the Joint Master in Translation will be assessed by the partner universities based on the following selection criteria:
- Content of the bachelor's degree*
- Transcript of records
- Personal motivation
- Language proficiency
- Recommendation letters
The number of students that can be admitted per University each year is equivalent to the number of mobility places specified in the bilateral agreement of the mobility programme for the year.
*Students in their last semester of an undergraduate programme can apply if they are likely to complete the programme prior to the start of the MA programme. Acceptance is in this case only conditional. If the BA programme is not completed before the start of the MA programme, the place will be offered to the next candidate on the selection list.
Selection & Admission Procedure
Selection for and admission to the Joint Master's Programme in Translation (Slovene-German-English) is done in a 2-step procedure.
1) Selection: All candidates' applications are assessed and ranked. The number of candidates that can be admitted each year is equivalent to the number of mobility places agreed by the two universities.
2) Admission: When you have been selected you will be contacted by your contact person at the entrance university. S/he will provide information about the admission process.
Please note that you can only be admitted to the Joint Master’s Programme if you fulfil the requirements for admission at the chosen entrance university.
