Mandatory Mobility
You are required to take the specialisation track in the second semester at a partner university and acquire at least 30 ECTS credits.
Find out more about the specialisation tracks offered here.
The specialisation track is assigned during the selection meeting, taking into account available resources, the applicant's preferences and previous education. The entrance university takes care of the organisation of the mandatory mobility semester in the course of the first semester. Where possible, existing scholarship programmes such as Erasmus+ or other equivalent programmes will be used to facilitate the study abroad stay. Tuition fees will be waived at the mobility university, however administrative fees may apply.
Additional Mobility
In addition to the mandatory mobility you may also spend an additional study period at another university provided the following rules as set out in the curriculum are observed:
- At least 30 ECTS credits must be successfully completed in the second semester (specialisaiton track) at one of the partner universities in the consortium.

Virtual exchange
The programme offers various virtual exchange components:
A Virtual Exchange Orientation for all students of the Joint International Master in Sustainable Development. It allows students to get to know each other independently of their entrance university. It also offers the opportunity to obtain information directly from the coordinators of the individual partner universities.
The consortium also offers a Webinar Miniseries, some of which will be integrated into courses at the respective entrance universities. The last year newly established format will not only provide a first insight into the different perspectives on Sustainable Development present in the programme but will also bring together students from the different universities.
Participants will

- have a chance to discuss sustainability topics with experts from different backgrounds
- get to know the students from the partner universities in the same generation and
- collaborate with them in small group exercises
